Resystems was founded by Stewart Gebbie in 2021 in order to address the need for applying System-of-Systems engineering to support complex software-centric projects that span multiple disciplines and areas of application.
Stewart has a long standing passion for implementing reliable computing systems. With an MSc in mathematics, he brings both rigour and simplicity to systems designs. As an ex-Googler, he has first hand experience with large scale production distributed systems. And, with over 25 years of experience in the sector he has developed a pragmatic understanding for the challenges involved, be they technical or coordination related.
Stewart is currently engaged in a PhD program, researching the application of system-of-system approaches to software-centric systems. He is also a member of INCOSE and is interested in looking for ways to apply systems engineering knowledge to software-centric systems.
David holds an MSc in computer science but has mostly been helping develop applications and systems in the logistics space. This has led to working in the field of Operations Research and he is an active member of the Operations Research Society of SA. Having seen first hand the shifts in technology from stand alone applications of the desktop era, to the web and now to cloud based services it seems clear that designers are facing growing pressure to deliver faster even as the complexity of the systems they are both working with and working in become harder to understand, navigate, and communicate. He also has a crazy amount of Lego and too many unread books.
Brynn left academia to join a fledgling next-generation telco in its journey from start-up, to sale, to a mature organisation. As CTO, he was responsible for building and directing the technology team to translate business strategy into software and systems. Brynn has 15 years of experience in designing and building high transaction volume, low latency software that continues to work for businesses. Brynn undertakes technology initiatives that stop waste, demolish bureaucracy, and remove the friction between people and the services they consume.
Ken is a senior software engineer with 20 years of experience, spanning retail and hospitality point of sale, VAS transaction switching, telecoms and fintech industries. Ken enjoys building efficient and scalable systems, with a focus on simplicity, rapid iteration, and operational visibility.
